Celebrating ten years for Gardman and Aspin
This month, Aspin decided to talk about Gardman, a distributor of garden products that for the last ten years has worked with Aspin to streamline their B2B ordering process both on the road and in the warehouse.
Based in Peterborough and founded in 1992, Gardman are proud to be turning over £65m and are the UK’s leading garden products provider to garden centres. Strolling around most UK garden centres, you can never be too far away from one of Gardman’s many core gardening, solar lighting, garden living, wild bird care and pet care products – many of which were ordered using Aspin’s MiniSell order taking system. Additionally, Gardman utilise MiniPick – Aspin’s warehouse management software, which enables the businesses to manage their order picking and dispatch.
Gardman have a team of 35 agents who use MiniSell to take orders and handle credits in garden centres across the UK. On originally identifying Aspin as their selected vendor with MiniSell for their handheld order taking solution, Gardman were very enthusiastic at the coming changes to their ordering process. “The management team that oversees the agents and internal sales administration process will be affected greatly by the adoption of your MiniSell software.”
Aspin asked Gardman to summarise how the two businesses have worked together. “Gardman have worked with Aspin for over 10 years. Throughout this time we have built up a very healthy and productive working relationship between the two companies.” To further concrete Aspin’s position as a key software supplier to the garden products industry, Aspin joined The Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) earlier this year and are happy to have this membership in common with Gardman – also a member of GIMA.
2014 has seen Gardman decide to migrate the agents from MiniSell over to Aspin’s iPad app PixSell for ordering and also product presentation. Gardman have been busy implementing the new system and envisage rolling out PixSell to the agents this summer, 2014.
Of MiniSell, PixSell and MiniPick, Gardman said, “We utilise three of Aspin’s core products in our business which assist the sales reps with order taking, and the warehouse operations back at head office.”
