April was also the month for National Stationery week  – with a number of Aspin clients taking part in the London Stationery Show to showcase their products. Midlands based Maped Helix, sponsor of National Stationery Week 2016, were delighted to announce the launch of an exciting competition, aimed at young designers. They will be delivering pencil cases full of Maped Helix stationery to the winners, arming them for further creativity. Four runners up will also win a £50 bundle of Maped Helix stationery goodies full of exciting new and innovative colouring and designing products. The judging panel includes newly-appointed Maped Helix Managing Director Gray Richmond. Best of luck to Gray in his new post.

Aspin client Filofax, based in West Sussex also ran a competition to raise awareness of their new tablet case collection that is the largest in the world. The challenge was to style and take the winning photograph using and reviewing the new Filofax tablet cases.

Moving on to housewares, a big congratulations to the Portmeirion Group on their record breaking year last year. The housewares company saw a £68 million turnover, meaning sales grew 11% from the year before. Director Dick Steel suggested he is delighted with the achievement of another record breaking level of sales. “Sales performance during 2015 has been particularly robust.”

Our clients have seen the releasing of some exciting new products this month:

Sutton based Gibsons are launching their ‘Webley’ board game which sees an old classic revisit the shelves. There has been a resurgence in board game popularity of late, and Gibsons have hit the nail on the head with this one. Enesco of Carlisle have launched an exciting new collection which sees seven limited edition figures in the ‘Let it Snow’ range. Over in Bath, Half Moon Bay have released a cool ‘NASA takes off’ collection. This collection has a wide reaching appeal, with 15 products formats ranging from retro bags to pin badges.

That’s all for this month – happy May everyone!
