During this period of home working and furlough Aspin have accelerated our 2020 internal AWS training programme.

One of our goals for 2020 was that all our team (developers, project managers, sales and marketing, service desk and operations), gain a deeper understanding of AWS.

The initial focus for this has been the AWS Cloud Practitioner course. The developers, which make up half the team at Aspin have been doing a ‘deep dive’ into this using an in-depth training programme via Linux Academy (https://linuxacademy.com/), with non-development staff following AWS’s own online digital training programme (https://aws.amazon.com/training/course-descriptions/cloud-practitioner-essentials/). At the end of the course, the developers will take the AWS online exam to become AWS Certified Cloud Practitioners, with this also being an option for anyone else that is interested.

In order to support the training programme, Adam Gorse has created a Trello board, to guide everyone through the process. Alongside this, we are using Microsoft Teams for video workshops and a dedicated chat channel, where people can exchange knowledge and request support or clarification.

Other members of the team have also been looking at other training programmes in addition to this, such as a Full Stack Digital Marketing course (https://stacksocial.com/sales/the-2020-full-stack-digital-marketing-certification-bundle).
