Interpet sales team shine with iPad ordering
“PixSell gives our business a professional edge” – that’s according to Jason Booker, Commercial Manager at Interpet. Keen to hear more about the benefits our iPad app have brought the pet care product distributor, we asked Jason to take us back to when it all started with Interpet and Aspin.
In 2005, Interpet looked to upgrade their processes with a more automated way of taking orders. Aspin had been recommended by one of the directors at Interpet, who had worked with Aspin before. Feedback was extremely favourable and Interpet subsequently rolled out MiniSell to their field sales team and began to enjoy the fruits of improved order turn around, back office data visibility and a more professional image.
Fast forward 8 years and the Interpet Area Sales Managers are utilising Aspin’s PixSell iPad app – as expansion of the Interpet product portfolio called for a more visual field sales tool to be put in place. MiniSell had been a fantastic solution for taking orders but with the availability of product and lifestyle images, pdfs and product videos – Interpet decided to migrate over to a tablet based solution. With 10 users out on the road, Interpet needed a system that would assist their Area Sales Managers in servicing the field, provide updated prices and stock levels – and would keep each manager in the know about items on promotion.
“PixSell gives Interpet a ‘front facing digital platform to streamline our ordering processes’. Benefits of PixSell include integration with our back office system – which with an American server system required much support and dedication from the guys at Aspin. Additionally, having access to ‘just in time’ data whilst with customers contributes to improved service for our customers. Orders taken from our retail customers generally reach the distribution centre within 1 hour – order turnaround is at an all time high.”
The iPad is an easy tool to navigate and engages well with the customer, Jason suggests – knocking spots off a cumbersome laptop that is not a practical sales aid in a pet shop. PixSell is all about the ease of use – offering many great shortcuts for the sales person, including tagging, collections, and up to date stock levels – it gives our Area Sales Managers that little bit extra to work with. The Interpet product portfolio is split into different sectors and the ability to group the catalogue means access to specified groups of products, quickly and accurately.
Consequently, it’s not just Interpet that have praise for PixSell, their retail customers are reaping the benefits of receiving order confirmations via email before the sales person has even left the customer site. “The app enables us to provide a better communication and service to our customers” says Jason.
