Keep an eye out on our blog and social media sites and let us know if you spot anything odd tomorrow.
In the meantime, we’re off to source some apples for tomorrow’s apple bobbing contest in the office.
Oh, and if it amuses you – there will be plenty of fancydress at Aspin tomorrow – spooktacular!
We threw a little lunchtime bash on Friday to celebrate our turning 30. Many thanks to all that attended to wish us well, helped us raise £100.50 for Macmillan Cancer and of course, congratulations to our raffle winners – Allan Brown, Jim Edmunds and Rob Lindsay. Without further ado, here is our party in pictures….
It’s our 30th birthday today! Happy birthday to us! We are just putting the finishing touches to our birthday lunch plans and admiring how smart we all look. The theme for today is blue and silver, in line with our commemorative logo and the decorations are looking a little something like this…
Way back in 1984, when Ghostbusters was the hit movie, Band Aid were preparing to storm the music charts and of course Apple released their first Mac, Aspin began. Here’s a little snapshot of Aspin employees back in April 1985 and of course one taken in September 2014 (three people in the 2014 photo weren’t even born at the time of the original shot!).
Good morning fellow cake bakers and eaters – the Aspin Macmillan coffee morning is now open! The downstairs office offers an array of sweet and breaded treats available for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support. We hope lots of other companies are doing the same this morning, so here is a few snaps of what we are tucking into for charity:
Last week it was time for the staff at Aspin to be on their best behaviour as a group of 26 ICT and Computing teachers descended on their Romsey office. They came as part of a course organised by the Independent Association of Prep Schools, designed to prepare teachers to deal with the changes to the curriculum which have been triggered by the government’s decision to add more emphasis to computing and programming. This change has partly come about in response to companies like Aspin throwing down the gauntlet to the education sector to provide them with a continued supply of quality programmers.
Yesterday morning saw Aspin’s running team (variable members each year!) hit the tracks for the Lymington 10k.
After much training and encouragement, Nathan, Lizzi and Dale completed the run, ALL achieving new personal best times. In addition to the runners, there were plenty of Aspin supporters including Toby, Mike and Richard – and many family members. Here are a few photographs from the day:
This week saw Marion leave Aspin after 18 years as Financial Controller. Marion started with Aspin in 1996 (many existing staff worked for Aspin back then, too!) and has been a great contributor to the success of the business. We all wish Marion the best of luck in her new house, many long gardening days and gin & tonics!
